Blueprint Notes

Items that can affect floor plans after the design is complete:

Depending on the design of the home, the homeowners choice of plumbing fixtures (especially tubs and/or shower stalls) can necessitate changes to the floor plans. Although every effort is made to design for appropriately sized fixtures, there are many non-standard sized fixtures that the homeowner can choose from. If there is any concern about fixture sizes, the homeowner(s) should pick out all plumbing fixtures before framing begins, so that any necessary adjustments can be made to the plans before any work must be undone.

Items not on blueprints:

There are a number of items that do not appear on the blueprints that can affect either the interior or exterior appearance of the home. Although the homeowner is usually consulted on the placement of most of these items, there are times when the builder and/or subcontractor do not have this information at construction time and must use their own discretion in locating these items. Since this can result in items being placed somewhere other than where the homeowner wants them, and since it is very difficult to move some of these items once they are installed, it is best to discuss the placement of them with the builder and/or subcontractor well in advance. Below are some of the items that may need to be considered:

Note: This should not be considered to be a complete list. Since every construction project is unique, there may be additional items to consider that are not listed here.
